Measured surveys - Floor Plans

Floor plans can be supplied with varying levels of detail - from simple walls, columns, doors and windows surveys, to a fully detailed data set including all 3D information (sill & head heights, stair riser and going details, door heights, ceiling heights, beam details etc.). As part of our measured surveys, the surveyors can also pick up and highlight other information such as any electrical and data points, sanitary fittings, incoming mains positions, plant, fire fighting and detection equipment, security equipment and signage.

Space Usage Surveys

Extensively used in Asset Management programmes but also useful for space planning and feasibility studies, these measured surveys would generally consist of a set of floor plans showing walls, columns, doors and windows, plus sanitary fittings only. The property can then be broken down as required into Gross Internal, Nett Internal or Gross External Areas of all rooms and buildings comprising the survey. This data can then be extracted into a table on the drawing, a spreadsheet or a database.

Measured Roof Survey

A measured survey of the roof plan(s) of most properties can be produced as part of a measured building or site survey. The data would be gathered using floor plans plus either the reflectorless function of the total station for a pitched roof or by accessing any flat roofs.

When you need a measured building survey urgently, our surveyors can often issue preliminary drawings of particular areas to enable you to start as soon as possible.

Your Survey Deliverables

Drawing options for the final delivery can include sections, elevations and a choice of MicroStation or AutoCAD files, delivered in a variety of formats to suit you and your client: .dgn, .dwg, .dxf, .dwf, .pdf, plus image files. All files can be delivered in either 2D or 3D formats as required, along with hard copy plans. All measured survey data is accompanied by a full set of digital photographs.

Equipment

Our team of measured building surveyors is fully trained in all of the latest Leica digital surveying equipment. The type of equipment used on any given project is wholly dependant upon the specification and type of property / site concerned. For measured building surveys, we would normally use Leica Disto handheld laser measuring devices, in conjunction with a Leica 1200 series total station for control. For site/land surveys, again we would use a Leica 1200 series total station, either with or without GPS control.
